The two fanciers featured in this filmwere both great north road racers but ow apply their skills to what is considered the greatest race of all, the Tarbes/Pau Grand National with the National Flying Club.
Mark Bulled from Harlow Essex
Mark clocked his two year old chequer cock on the second day flying 588 miles only to have to sweat it out waiting for the longer flyers to clock and steal hi sthunder!
Alwyn Hill of Ilkeston Derbyshire
One of those fanciers was Alwyn Hill and his super pigeon ‘Wingdown’.
Windown is possibly one of the greatest long distance champions Europe has seen. He has finished 7th Open National 3,808b, 4th Open 3290b, and 2nd Open 3808 flying 676 miles. All thre times competing with the National Flying club, no other bird has ever acheived this!
